Welcome to today's episode of Reflective Hour.  I'm your host, Tammy Toney-Butler.

But we all know who the real host of this show is.  And that's Christ.

We invite the Holy Spirit into everything we do, for we are one part of that threefold cord.

Worshipping in Spirit and Truth.  Finding our way through the darkness of yesterday,  the darkness of today, and bringing Light into areas where the darkness threatens to consume us.

We are all mere sinners.  We all fall short of the Glory of the Lord.  There is no condemnation in Christ.  There's abundant love,  peace,  joy,  clarity, wisdom, discernment, strength, fortitude,  and a steadfast spirit.

That's what we need today.  As we march forward into 2024, we need the promises that God's Word brings us as we strive never to compromise our faith but to stay tethered to the Holy Vine of Truth and to never compromise with culture or the world.

We are to hold on to the Hem of His garment, if need be,  praising Him even in the middle of a storm,  even when we can see no way out.  We will choose to walk in confident,  obedient faith in Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Today, we are going to review a scripture.  It is a fundamental scripture for most Christians, believers, and those who walk in the Light: Psalm 117.

It is a hymn.  It is the shortest Psalm,  but it is so powerful and packed with Truth,  goodness, clarity, and wisdom as to how we walk forward into 2024.

It's something that you can print out. Keep with you. Refer back multiple times so that you never forget the Truth in the words spoken by our Lord and Savior,  by God Almighty,  because that is what the Bible is. It is our sword.  It is our weapon to use
against the world's truth.  It is our weapon to discern the signs of the times, to know the pathway forward, and to not deviate from it.  But to hold steadfast as the wind blows because we are anchored in the Cornerstone, the Foundation which is Christ,  our Lord, our Savior,  our Redeemer, our Healer.  We can never waver from that.

We have to know who we are, whose we are,  and what we're called to do for the Kingdom of God.  We're all born with a purpose. A purpose.

We all function to achieve the will of our Father.  We are mere soldiers in a spiritual battle that's waging in the heavenlies.  As it says in Ephesians, we're to armor up every day,  for we wrestle not against flesh, but principalities and evil in high places.

From now on, we will need to tether so tightly to Christ to the Truth.

And to the guidance and direction of the Whisper of the Holy Spirit.  Challenging times are ahead,  but we will win.  We will sustain ourselves during difficult times. We will be victorious.  We will prosper because we walk in Spirit and Truth.  We know who we are, and there is no fear in perfect love.  We must refuse to cater to fear.

No matter what we're facing.  We have to hold steadfast, knowing that we are tucked under the Wing of the Almighty God, covered and protected by the Blood of Jesus, the Lamb that was sacrificed for us all.

This is a word of encouragement today.  This is a word of strength.  This is a word of truth as you weather your storms.

Maybe it's with your health.  Maybe you've been given a diagnosis, and you're confused because the devil is speaking in one of your ears.

We shut the mouth of the lying serpent today because we know that Christ is our Healer.

We know that we will be healed because we have faith in God.

He set me free, and He can set you free.

And I refuse to cater to doubt.  I refuse  To not walk in the promises of His Word,  to have peace and joy amid the world's chaos.

There's no drama. There's this perfect peace, this stillness that comes from knowing whose you are, what He's called you to do, and walking in blind obedience,  not knowing where you're going,  but knowing who your Guide is,  that He will never leave you nor forsake you,  that He will be with you in the darkness that you're facing.  He is our Light.  He is our way out. He is our strength.  Hold on to Him. Hold on to His Word.

Let's dive into that.

I will be reading today out of the Student Study Bible,  Psalm 117

The Lord's Faithfulness Endures Forever
1: Praise the Lord, all nations!
    Extol him, all peoples!
2:  For great is his steadfast love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord!

Psalm 117, this short hymn invites all nations to praise the Lord.

The Lord's steadfast love and faithfulness are pledged to Israel but are intended for all the world.  Hence, the Gentiles addressed are included in the word us. The calling of Israel was for the sake of the whole world.

The Old Testament constantly expresses the hope that Gentiles will one day gladly join in worshiping the one true God. But when Israel sang this in faith, they will recall both their privileged position and reason for existence.

Paul quotes  117:1 in Romans 15:11 as part of his argument that Jewish and Gentile Christians should welcome one another and worship together.  The long-awaited time has arrived (Student Study Bible Crossway ESV).

This is the verse—the scripture, the Word that I was to present today.  We know in part, and we see in part,  but we know that our Guide will never lead us down the wrong path nor down a path of temptation.  If we follow the one True God,  if we follow Christ,  we can endure anything that comes our way.  He will give us the strength to weather any storm.

We cannot rely on our own strength.  We cannot control our destiny.

We must repent and turn and seek the Lord.

We must seek His Truth.  We must Abide in the Vine.  The time is now to seek the Almighty God's comfort and healing power.

That is this Reflective Hour.

Its purpose today is to bring hope where there's been darkness. Where there's been hopelessness,  to bring strength,  where there's been weakness,  to bring truth,  where there's been lies spoken, negative words spoken over you,  maybe your whole life.

But I'm here to tell you,  you'll rise above it. You'll make it.  You're strong. You're mighty. You're fearfully, beautifully, and wonderfully made daughters and sons of the king.

There's no fear.  There's no condemnation. There's no shame or guilt in Christ.  There's only perfect peace, joy, and love when we give our life to Him, pledge our lives to follow Him, and say, no more our will, but Yours be done.

No more our way, but Your way. Your ways are above our ways.  We know and see in part,  but when we surrender to You,  Abba Father, Lord Jesus,  and the Holy Spirit guides us,  we cannot fail.  We will succeed.  We will be victorious as a nation, world, followers of Christ, believers,  freedom fighters,  peacekeepers, and way-makers.

You can fight any addiction.  You can break it if you tether into Christ.  I'm living proof of that.  He broke every chain. He set me free, and I've been on His path to spread His message of hope, truth, and redemption to a world full of despair. Hopelessness.

We say no more. Not in 2024.  You'll be set free.

You'll walk in peace and glory and strength.  No more depression.  No more insomnia.  No more food disorders or eating disorders.

No more.

Be set free.

Walk in His Light. Walk in His Truth—trust and tether into the anchor that will never blow you into harm's way.

You can always trust in Abba Father,  who will never leave you nor forsake you.

Put your trust in Him, and rest in Him this day, hour, and minute as you try to get through another day.

God bless you and keep you.

Holy Spirit, surround them with Your peace,  Your powerful healing presence.  As they watch this and listen to it,  let them know the Truth and let them be set free by the Truth.

That is my prayer for them that they rest on the promises of Your Word.

Help them to draw strength from the Wellspring of Living Water,  to be sustained by the Bread of Life, to be set free from the chains that have bound them.

I declare and decree that they will be set free from bondage.  Every chain will break as they listen to this and know the Truth as they know You, Jesus,  as they follow You, Jesus.  As they surrender to You, Jesus.

Watch over them and keep them, Lord Jesus, keep them safe.

And that is today's Reflective Hour.

That is my prayer for you in your precious name, Jesus.

Amen.
