Welcome to today's episode of Reflective Hour with Tammy Toney-Butler. I'm your host, but we all know who the host of this show is, and that's Christ. Holy Spirit, have your way in this time that we have together. May they see and hear you and not me. And may they draw strength from you. Oh, Father, help us. Help us to hear the truth, to see the truth, and remove any veils that would keep us from growing from this word that you have. In the mighty name of your precious son, we pray. Amen. The title of this episode is the in between place. How many of you are in the in between place? In between jobs, in between relationships, in between callings, not sure where you're supposed to be. Wanting to force a door open, but knowing that's not the way. Wanting to force a relationship, but knowing that's not the way. wanting to force an outcome in a situation that you have absolutely no control over. But you know that's not the way because you've grown. You've healed and you're whole. That old part of you is gone. and you choose to look through the circumstance, the moment that you're facing where you're alone with your thoughts. You're being still waiting and boy, it's hard to wait. to wait on the promise to manifest. To wait on the door to open. To wait on the right man to come into your life, to wait on the provision you need to carry out all that you've been called to do. Waiting, enduring patience. It's like when you plant seeds in your raised bed and you just wait. You've got good soil. You've watered and you're doing everything, but you see no growth. And day after day, you check and you wait and you see no growth. You're tempted to mess with the soil, maybe water again, plant something else, and just start over.

But instead, you realize you need to just wait. And in the right moment, breakthrough will come. that plant will break up through the surface of that soil and bear everlasting fruit. But you have to be patient. You have to wait. And that is so hard for survivors to do is to just wait.

To wait and trust and obey. Waiting says I trust you, God. Waiting says I know what you have for me is best. That you have exceedingly abundantly more than I ask, think, or imagine. Your ways are higher than my ways. And you know best. So, I'm going to wait. I'm going to endure. I'm going to draw strength from your wellspring of living water. I'm going to draw strength from Jesus. He died on the cross and endured so much suffering so that I didn't have to wallow in self-pity, shame, guilt, fear, regret. Instead, I now have the ability to sit still and trust and wait and obey because I do it in his strength. I don't do it in mine. I do it in his strength.

You'll weather the storms in his strength. You'll wait on the door to open in his strength. and you'll wait on the right relationship, the one that God has for you. I know it's so hard to wait and it's so hard to trust. It's so hard to let go. Let go of things that you love because you know God has something better. There's things and people that you have brought into your life for comfort that no longer serve you this season. Your trauma chose them and you realize you don't need it. All you need is Jesus. He'll see you through. You don't need any material possessions. You don't have to have a man or a woman in your life, a relationship, to be defined, to be whole, to be complete. You are whole. You're fearfully, beautifully, and wonderfully made daughters and sons of the king. You're strong. You're mighty. And even though the outcomes may not be the way you intend, the way you think is best, I can tell you this. God always delivers on his promise. He's never late. He's always on time and he's always true to his word because he's a good father. He's a good father. You can trust him. You can love him. He sent his only begotten son to die so we could live. That's a good father. So when we find ourselves in the in between place, we just have to be still. I use it as a time to take a spiritual inventory to ask God to show me if there's things in me that need to get out of me. Usually in the waiting, that's when spiritual warfare seems to creep up. The devil tries to come to kill, steal, and destroy because I'm already weak. I'm already at a place of waiting and expectation. And Satan can come with a counterfeit. He can come with a distractor. And you have to realize, no, I'm going to wait. I'm gonna wait on the authentic thing that God has for me because I have found my authentic voice and I am who I'm supposed to be. And for the first time in my life, I know that and I know that I can wait. I am strong and God will deliver on his promise. So I wait in expectant trust knowing it's coming, knowing that open door, that promise is being fulfilled, has already been fulfilled. I'm just waiting on it to manifest in the earthly realm. God has it. God has you. And even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you fear no evil, for he's with you. He's with you. He's with you. He's always with us. And even if you can't see him, and even if you can't hear the whisper, and you're truly in a place of complete stillness and waiting, not working yourself to death, not trying to make something happen, but just sitting and enjoying nature, sitting in a barn, watching a couple of cows and a horse, cats all around, and ducks.

the wind blowing and you're just sitting in his creation waiting waiting on what he has for you. Waiting on what he has for you. You're in a place of peace

and joy despite your circumstances. And then you realize it's also about perspective. Instead of focusing on the lack, you look around and for the first time you position yourself from a place of abundance and not lack. And you see that you're blessed, highly favored, empowered to prosper. But you see that you already have it. You already have abundant life because you have peace and you have joy. and you're able to sit still when before it would have driven you nuts and then you realize, "Wow, I'm whole. I'm healed. Jesus is with me in my boat. And I can weather any storm." And you start seeing all the bountiful blessings that maybe you took for granted a few minutes ago when you were going down that road of misery, that road of sorrow or getting lost in thoughts. And when you refuse to go there, when you refuse to cater to the negative and only look at the positive, you realize, wow, you have grown. You have matured in faith. You're strong. and God's with you. It's powerful, a powerful realization. And then you start seeing how blue the sky is, how green the pasture is, and you truly are grateful. Grateful for God's creation, grateful for his son who died so you could live. and you just truly are just grateful and you're able to put others needs above your own. You're able to see clearly removing any selfish ambition, any place of selfishness at all that had rooted itself in your heart and you realize it's all purged out and you think of others before yourself. You realize maybe it had to be this way and maybe the outcome's not the way you expected, but it feels right. Feels good because you have the peace of the Lord to guide you. He's your anchor. He's everything. That's when you realize it. All you need is Jesus. All you need is Jesus. Glory be to Jesus. What a revelation. So if you're in the in between place, take a spiritual inventory.

Focus on the positive. Be grateful. Keep praising your way through. And know tomorrow is a new day. And there's always hope in Christ Jesus. He'll see you through. He'll see you through. He'll see you through.

Glory be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus. We praise your holy name in that in between place. We praise you. We worship you. We worship you. Glory be to Jesus.
